Top Teams Make Presence Known on Scoring Leaderboards

TORONTO, ON, August 11, 2024

Starting with Points & Goals both these honors go to Katy De Snoo of the league leading Whitby Rush. No doubt, this year Katy ran away with the Goals category averaging 3.5 Goals per game and beating her nearest competitor by 9 goals. To put this into perspective, Katy had more goals this year than any other WMSL player had points! Add in her assists and she averaged 4.42 PPG. The recently named Team Canada forward is sure to be a force in the WMSL Provincials and the 2024 World Championships over the next 2 months.

Katy De Snoo – Whitby Rush – 7 GP: 25 Goals & 6 Assists for 31 Points

Honorable Mentions

Nicole Peroni – Peterborough Lakers – 9 GP: 16 Goals & 4 Assists for 20 Points

Rachael McKinnon – Whitby Rush – 5 GP: 14 Goals & 7 Assists for 21 Points

Erica Evans – Mimico Mountaineers – 4 GP: 10 Goals & 5 Assists for 15 Points

In the helpers category, Mekwan Tulpin of the Grand River Attack used a great second half the season to reach the top of the leader board. With Team Haudenosaunee obligations causing her to miss a few games this year, we’re sure she would have potted a few more given the opportunity. Maddy Moloney for the Peterborough Lakers also provided 9 helpers but did it in 1 more game then Mekwan.

Mekwan Tulpin – Grand River Attack – 6 GP: 9 Goals & 9 Assists for 18 Points

Maddy Moloney – Peterborough Lakers – 7 GP: 7 Goals & 9 Assists for 16 Points

Honorable Mentions

Maddy Baxter – Peterborough Lakers – 5 GP: 5 Goals & 8 Assists for 13 Points

Jordan Dean – Whitby Rush – 6 GP: 9 Goals & 8 Assists for 17 Points

Moving over to goalies, no surprise the winningest goalie is from the 8-1 Whitby Rush as Ayana Bretherick takes the honors this year going 5-0 in her 5 starts. After taking last year off to coach the 2023 WMSL Champs, this year she stepped back into the net and showed no sign of rust and with the help of some stingy Rush D led the league with 1.4 GAA as well.

Another player of note, Mackenzie Singer was one of the key players in the Niagara Turtle Islanders 2nd half push up the standings going 4-0 down the stretch to finish 4-1 in her 5 starts. She could be pivotal in helping hosts Niagara make it out of the last chance qualifier and into the “A” Championship.

Ayana Bretherick – Whitby Rush – 5 GP: 5 Wins & 0 Losses with 1.4 GAA and 1 SO

Mackenzie Singer – Niagara Turtle Islanders – 5 GP: 4 Wins & 1 Losses with 2.6 GAA and 1 SO

Davina Gillis – Mimico Mountaineers – 5 GP: 4 Wins & 1 Losses with 2.5 GAA

Ashley Price – Arthur Aces – 6 GP: 4 Wins & 2 Losses with 2.3 GAA and 1 SO
