Kingston and Peterborough First WMSL Games

The 2024 WMSL season play has officially begun for our 2 new franchises.

TORONTO, ON, June 13, 2024 – Women’s Major Series Lacrosse (WMSL) kicked off it’s regular season on Saturday June 8 in Whitby with all ten teams coming together to play a slate of games.

The Peterborough Lakers and the Kingston Cannons both new to the league played their initial games. The driving forces behind the creation and acceptance of these teams into the WMSL are pictured above. Victoria Clark and Chelsea Campbell re Peterborough and Katie Smith re Kingston are shown with John Dalgliesh Commissioner of the WMSL. Both teams got off to good starts to the season with the Lakers winning both of their games and Kingston winning one and losing one. In the Kingston win Katie Smith recorded a shutout. WMSL is excited to have these two new teams based in eastern Ontario providing opportunities for young women to continue to play lacrosse as they age out of minor lacrosse.
