Toronto Stars Take Hiatus for 2023

WMSL APPROVES TORONTO STARS HIATUS FOR 2023 SEASON.

TORONTO, ON, MARCH 23, 2023 – After a tough decision, the Toronto Stars team approached the WMSL to request a one-year hiatus. The Women’s Major Series Lacrosse Council approved this request on April 20, 2023. As per agreement, the Stars will retain the rights of all players who were on their 2023 Protected List, except for those unconditionally released for prior reasons, for use in 2024. All players currently on the Toronto Stars protected list will be offered conditional releases to play for another WMSL team for the 2023 season. All players who were not protected but registered to try-out for the Stars are free to register and Try-out for any of our other 9 teams. Competing in the 2023 WMSL season are the Akwesasne Outlaws, Arthur Aces, Grand River Attack, Hamilton Bengals, London Thrashers, Mimico Mountaineers, Mississauga Badgers, Niagara Turtle Islanders and Whitby Rush. The final 2023 schedule will be release in the coming days.
